Breaking Up Poems

~~~~
I know you've moved on
And found someone new
But I have to admit
I still wish for you
This isn't healthy for me
I really need to stop
When I think about our past
My heart wants to pop
So as I say my last goodbye
I want you to know
That I'm trying my best
To learn to just let go
~~~~

How did you look me in the eye
And just say the words "It's over"
I thought everything was alright
And we were living in clover.

~~~~
I feel my life has ended
That I will never feel again;
I'm numb and living in shock
Nothing flowing through my brain.
What planet was I on?
Not to see this coming through;
I thought you'd gone quiet
But I trusted and loved you.
Now it's all over town
That you're leaving me;
You've found someone else
Leaving me all at sea.
I could drown you know
I'm not very good at swimming;
But I will have to buck on up
I'll not have you winning.
Breaking Up Poems
That's it! It's final how dare you say this now
You'd left me for her a few weeks ago;
You're not to sure and want to come back
This time it's me that's in the know!
~~~~

This has got to end
There is no other way;
I'm sorry but that's how it is
I'll see you around someday.

~~~~
I've packed my bags
And I'm ready to go;
I'm leaving you for good
But this you already know.
It's very sad it's worked out this way
But life didn't go according to plan;
It was good while it lasted
But I will never be your man.
Parting is all we know of heaven
and all we need to know of hell.
Emily Dickinson, "Parting"
~~~~

My heart is broken and smashed to pieces
Alongside all my dreams;
You've left without a single word
At night you can hear my screams.

Nothing worse than a woman scorned
Is how the saying goes;
It's worse than that for me right now
Because I really just don't know!

Just tell me what has happened
To our love and plans together;
Or is it just the wedding jitters
Before our married life starts forever?
